The 450R engines have a common fault with the idler pulley that may lead to worse, more expensive issues. The constant heat generated at the idler pulley gradually but surely causes a split between the plastic body and the metal shaft receiver or worse bearing failure. This process to replace takes about 1.5 to 2 hours if you have never done it, but if ignored, can lead to the failure of the supercharger belt to snap and alternator belt. Replace that pesky problematic pulley so you can get back to enjoying your boat.
