Essential Belt Kit for Mercury Verado L4/L6
Description
A snapped serpentine belt offshore isn't just an inconvenience — it can strand you miles from the dock with no power steering, no charging, and a supercharger that's no longer spinning. The USP Marine Essential Belt Kit is built so that doesn't ruin your day.
Most people know they need a new belt. What they don't know is that the OEM idler pulley — the component that keeps constant tension on that belt — is one of the most overlooked failure points on the Verado. The plastic housing separates from the metal shaft over time, especially under the heat and load cycles of a supercharged engine. Replace the belt without replacing the pulley, and you're back at square one faster than you think.
We've paired the OEM Quicksilver serpentine belt with a Gates OES idler pulley built with a German-made bearing for the kind of durability the factory pulley never had. Then we added the one tool that trips everyone up: the 3/8" Torx bit socket. It's not in a standard kit. It's not at the local hardware store. And without it, you're not doing the job. Everything you need is in this kit. Just add your 3/8" ratchet.
Kit Includes
- (1) OEM Quicksilver Serpentine Belt
- (1) OES Gates Idler Pulley with German-made bearing
- (1) 3/8" Torx Bit Socket
Why Replace the Pulley Too?
- The OEM plastic pulley housing is a known failure point on all Verado engines
- A worn bearing creates belt misalignment and accelerated wear
- Gates OES uses a sealed German-made bearing rated for marine heat cycles
- Replacing both at the same time is the only complete fix
